Baby Hammock - New Prop!

How totally cute is this little guy?  I was honored to photograph Jayce's newborn session in September and this was probably my favorite image.  Looks a little scary to photograph a newborn in a flimsy hammock but be aware that there is a table right underneath, just out of camera view, with a doubled over sheepskin rug and mom & dad safely within arms reach.  Trust me, I'm always more nervous than the parents about something happening to baby.  I will post new props as I have them and see what you think.

After careful consideration of running my By Invitation Only Membership Program, I am changing the rules and benefits to be more clear to customers.  Effective immediately, BIO benefits will be for clients who spend at least $1,000 per calendar year or more and will give them a straight 25% off my listed print prices for sizes up to 8x12" and 10% off custom framing orders.  All the rules and info can be printed out from my website at www.asliceoflifephoto.com.

Due to the rising costs of owning a business including costs associated with part-time employees who help me with color correcting and preparing files for upload to the web, I am no longer able to offer free or 1/2 price sessions any longer.  In return, we have lowered the prices of large wall prints and gallery wraps to make it more affordable to showcase your family in style above your fireplace or other wall space.

As a bonus, we are also offering free wall prints to our loyal customers at the end of the year based upon size of portrait orders during that calendar year.  You may use this free wall portrait from any session.

Buy Your Old Files in the Month of April!

Yup, you heard it right.  During the month of April, I will be making your pre-2010 high resolution files available.  The price will be dependent upon how much you ordered from the session, how often you use Heidi for your photography needs, and the type of session.  But hey, how great would it be to be able to print up some of those other great shots you loved but passed on in the past?  Plus, many folks these days like having the files stored so they can share them with generations to come.

In the future, I will be offering sessions that include the files but to be fair, I am giving you all a chance to get some of your older files now.  Don't delay in calling Heidi because this offer is only good through the month of April.  And no, this isn't an April Fools!

Help Paws In The Park and Save $90!

For those of you who haven't already figured it out, I'm an avid animal lover.  If you've been to my home studio, you've probably met my family of cats, dog, chickens and rabbits.  Oh, and let's not forget my koi pond.  I've done promotions in the past with proceeds going to the Escondido Humane Society, which is my "pet" charity, if you pardon the pun.

On March 28th, the Escondido Humane Society will once again host it's annual Paws in the Park, which is a walk to raise money for this non-profit organization.  Since I adopted my dog Willy back in October, this is our first opportunity to participate.  (I've include a photo of him since I'm such a proud mom!)  But instead of asking my friends and family to sponsor us without compensation, I am offering anyone who donates $50 a gift certificate for a 30 minute local session and 1-10x13 of choice.  This is typically a $140 cost (not including tax) so it's a pretty good deal.  You can keep it for yourself or give it as a gift, it doesn't matter.  The certificate will expire after December 31, 2010, so you have all year to use it.

To receive your gift certificate, please contact me at 760.739.9580.  You will make your check payable to A Slice of Life Photography (so I can keep tabs on who purchased a certificate) and in turn I will take all the money I received and pay one check from my company to the Escondido Humane Society on March 28th.  Hopefully this will be something I might do next year too, depending upon how successful it is this year.  I know money is tight for everyone so that's why I thought I would offer such a great deal that pays you back for doing something good in our community.  Thanks again for being such a great client and friend and Willy says "woof!"
